What is HBO doing with this lemon of an app? My stream freezes every 10 minutes, auto play is not a feature, continue watching is not on the home screen, jesus. If this didn’t come with my comcast sub I would be torrenting their shows and getting far more enjoyment.

Frustrating and cumbersome!
Took four attempts to get it to authenticate on my AppleTV even though my computer where I had to activate it from said I was all set. But my biggest complaint is how they implement Parental Controls. Every other TV app I use has a per show override with the PIN. With this App, if I want to watch Last Week Tonight on my AppleTV, I have to go to a computer, disable the Parental Controls for my entire account exposing all kinds of stuff I don’t want them to have access to. Then I have to remember to go turn Parental Controls back on from a computer. I complained about this a few years ago and HBO’s response was to explain the procedure I just did. Apparently they think it is adequate. I had canceled my subscription after that. Fast forward 2 years and still no improvement.
No good. Not supported
So AT&T owns DirecTV which owns HBO, but this app is not supported on I phone 6+ and won’t allow me to sign in. And I have AT&T and DirecTV now streaming through a Apple TV which works flawlessly by the way. I have all of their services and I can’t even sign into an app that they own. Major glitch in the system not impressed.

keeps saying wrong username/password, the same one i use on every other device (smart tv, appletv, browser)
I’ve Had Better... MUCH Better
Crappy app. For starters the login process is lengthy and redundant. Why do I need to go on a web browser to log into an APP??? Secondly you can’t add entire series to your Watchlist. However you can add individual episodes. But who is going to start off a series and take the time to add 80 episodes to your Watchlist?! Then continue to do that every time you start a new series. Do you even want us to watch your content??? Meaning you have to do a search for the show every time you open the app. What’s the point in even having a Watchlist? Very annoying. It should also be noted once you finish the individual episode you tediously added to your Watchlist, it doesn’t disappear on it’s own. You have to manually delete it, but WAIT, you can’t delete them individually... you can only clear them all at once. Don’t get me wrong... the quality of the movies and shows are great. App has never crashed on me. But that being said... HBO... do better. & hire a better developer.

Automatic Autoplay is Aggravating
There is no way to disable autoplay on the HBO GO app. So when you fall asleep watching an old episode of Last Week Tonight, you wake up with a large chunk of your data gone since it decided to play every episode. Even when you specifically choose one episode (not pressing play on the list but opening the specific episode before pressing play), it will still play through every episode to the newest one. The rest of the app works well, but the amount of frustration I get from being unable to disable autoplay makes this a 2 Star app.

Smart TV Ap has major bugs
Great service with awesome shows and movies. However, the Ap on my Smart TV constantly discontinues what’s playing giving an error that the “Title cannot be played at this time”. I’ve had to restart the same movie at least 20 times during one play despite good internet connection. Please fix this bug.
Sign in error
Still pretty bad when it comes to accessibility and searching, but it looks like the developers are actively trying to make it better, which is great. Or they’re just trying to appease the populace. Whatever the case, I am happy they responded to my complaint and told me how to fix it.
Unwatchable buffering
Shows and movies buffer every 30 seconds to the point where they are unwatchable. Even with great internet connection.
Boarders...
I have an iPhone X, and the borders are not completely black. This makes it really distracting when watching on my phone.
Black side bars please.
I dont really have the complains others do here. My biggest beef is why the gray sidebars? Please make them black or at least give us the option to change it. Gray is so distracting.
As difficult as possible to use
This app does everything it possibly can to prevent you from using it. You need to fix authentication/login. The fastest way to lose your users is to force them to log in over, and over, and over again...especially when your login process is difficult in the first place. Also missing basic features for streaming apps: Continue Watching rarely remembers what episodes I watched or the place I was in; it’s also completely hidden under Watchlist and therefore not easily accessed; no memory of previous searches or suggestions for recently searched content; you can’t add entire shows to your watchlist, only single episodes which becomes useless quickly. You’re a streaming service, please get the basics of serving your users right.
Doesn’t allow login via other providers!
This latest version no longer allows people to login to HBO if they subscribe to other cable providers other than AT&T. Used to work for me, but this latest version locks me out from entering my cable provider.
Please fix your app!
I don’t use HBO GO very much, when I do decide to use it for some reason it doesn’t keep me logged in, but that’s not why I’m critiquing this app. It is because once I put in my password along with my user name it then asked me to choose a TV provider. I choose DirecTV. Then it starts loading and then takes me back to a black screen that says choose my provider so far I’ve done this 15 times with no luck. I cannot get into this app to watch movies or shows or anything else. Every time I use it something like this happens. I only hope somebody that is responsible for maintaining this app is listening.
Repeated error
Ive used this app for several years. Now suddenly it says "Comcast does not support HBO GO." Since when? I just used it on Apple TV to watch John Oliver. Why isnt it working on my iPad? Comcast please fix!
App works well
The app is completely functional however certain shows like John Oliver don’t have every episode available like the description claims
